The guests of honour were joined by around 60 volunteers at NEX to share stories, gifts, and a bit of Christmas cheer and gratitude.
The menu featured a traditional baked Christmas lunch before tables were treated to Aussie Christmas staples pavlova and Christmas pudding.
For Barbara Siu and Susie Stephens, it was more than a Christmas. It was a reunion.

Susie said she has volunteered with Soul Hub for the Christmas event for over eight years, making her one of the longest serving volunteers, but last year she was reunited with Barbara.
"We went to school together in Coogee and we both worked in the entertainment industry on TV and in music," she said.
Ms Siu said it was the best party in town.
"I've come dressed as 'Santa-ette', she said.
"I went last year and i have been looking forward all year to come out again."
Ms Stephens said it was great to see all the familiar faces.
"Everyone looks forward to seeing everyone every year."
The event offers a festive meal, live music, and a sense of connection at a time of year when many in our community feel most alone.
Soul Hub general manager Matthew Ortiger says the day holds a special place in the Soul Hub calendar.

"Christmas can be a very hard time for people facing homelessness or hardship," he said.
"Our Christmas party creates a moment where our guests and volunteers can sit together, share a meal, and feel part of a community that cares for them.
"For many, it is the only party invitation they receive all year."
Mr Ortiger said the event is about building a sense of community and belonging.
"Our most vulnerable can become socially isolated, so to create a space where they are comfortable and can feel a part of something and meet people like them is a big thing," he said.
"Everyone is always welcome.
"This year's event is made possible through the support of Soul Hub's longstanding partners NEX and The Wests Group who are providing the venue and service, Newcastle Limousines who are covering the cost of Christmas lunch, and Port Waratah Coal Services who are contributing toward drinks and live music."
Community generosity also plays a large part in making the day special.
Hundreds of 'Hampers of Hope' donated by individuals, families, and businesses through Soul Hub's Christmas Appeal will be given to guests, each filled with staples and seasonal treats.

Guests will also receive toiletry buckets packed by Kiwanis, handbags supplied through Share the Dignity's "It's in the Bag" campaign, and prewrapped children's gifts donated by Life Church Newcastle.
