
A man will face court today, charged following a fire in Singleton on Sunday afternoon.

About 5.30pm yesterday ( November 9), emergency services were called to a home on Castlereagh Street, Singleton, following reports of a fire.
At the scene, police were told a 41-year-old man allegedly threw fuel on a 68-year-old man known to him.
The older man ran from the scene and rinsed the fuel from his body. He was not injured.
A short time later, flames were seen coming from the home.
Firefighters attended the scene and extinguished the blaze; however, the house was destroyed as a result. No injuries were reported.
The younger man was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located methamphetamine.
He was subsequently charged with throw/lay down etc explosive etc with the intent to maim/do grievous bodily harm (DV), damage property by fire/explosion greater than $15000 (DV), and possess a prohibited drug
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Monday (November 10).
Guns, drugs, $11k cash: motorcyclist faces 14 charges after speeding stop
In a NSW Police operation targeting drink and drug driving offenders across the state, locally, shortly before 12.30am on Sunday, officers attached to Hunter Valley Highway Patrol attempted to stop a motorbike rider on Wine Country Drive, North Rothbury, for allegedly speeding.
A short time later, officers spoke to the rider and noticed the bike was fitted with an altered registered plate.
The 37-year-old man was subject to a Firearms Prohibition Order and officers searched his backpack where they allegedly located an unloaded double barrel shotgun, more than $11,900 cash, shotgun shells and drugs including white crystal and numerous pills.
Officers also allegedly located a loaded smooth bore revolver in his underwear and a 50ml container of clear liquid. The man was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station before he was taken to Cessnock Hospital. Upon his release from hospital, he was charged with 14 traffic, drug, and firearms offences.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday, November 9 where he was formally refused bail to appear in Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday, November 12.
