
A MAN has died in a workplace incident at a warehouse in the Port Stephens area on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the industrial building on Heather Street at Heatherbrae after being called just before 2pm on September 24 to reports a worker had been seriously hurt.
The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but tragically died at the scene.
The man was yet to be formally identified late on Wednesday, a NSW Police spokesperson said in a statement.

Police from the Port Stephens Hunter district attended the warehouse and established a crime scene.
Officers have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal workplace incident.
NSW Police confirmed that SafeWork NSW, state's occupational health and safety regulator, had been notified on Wednesday.
In a statement late Wednesday evening, a SafeWork NSW spokesperson said it had dispatched inspectors to the scene who were making enquiries.
Police said a report would be prepared for the information of the coroner.
