Planning overseas travel and working out whether you need a visa can be stressful.

If you live in Australia and plan to travel abroad, some countries require a visa, some an eVisa and some can issue a visa on arrival.

Don't get caught out at customs without the right documentation - here's a list of countries that require a visa in 2025, put together by VisaGuide.World.

Skyscanner research found 51 per cent of Aussies find it stressful planning travel to destinations that require a visa.

They offer a handy online tool providing information about visas for Australian, Canada, United Kingdom, India and United States passport holders.

Some countries offer Visa waiver programs allowing Australian citizens to travel to certain countries without a visa for short-term stays.

Other countries require an electronic travel authorisation which requires passport holders to register online before travelling.
