A good crowd celebrated the end to Spring Comp in style at the Pim Thai restaurant at the Golf Club.

Club President Adrian Barwick thanked everyone for an excellent comp played in great spirits by everyone and being the first comp back at Muswellbrook was highly successful.
Adrian also thanked the Committee for their tireless efforts in making everyone feel welcome and included throughout the comp and to the sponsors for their wonderful support over the last couple of years.
From there it was handing out prizes time and with life members Patty Moffitt, Susan Paag, Max Barwick, Chris and Kris Agosto along with the committee members there was plenty of presenters available to hand out the awards.
As well as the team winners both comps had individual awards with Monday Nights Chris Agosto, Belinda Stephens, Donna Murdoch, Mark McLaughlin and Scott O'Hara all winning their respectively lines while Tuesday night's winners were Bill Coveny, Adrian Barwick, Andrew Lennox, Leanne Vanderdonk and Tina Burt.
Good Sport awards went to Scott O'Hara for Monday Night and Scott McCarthy for Tuesday Night while Niall Scott and Bill Coveny took out Most Improved for their respective nights. Fun prize for the longest match from both nights went to Kris Agosto and Jack Mann for their 23-21 epic earlier in the comp.
Annual awards saw the Brian Adams Most Improved trophy taken out by a deserving Mick Howard while Adrian Barwick was thrilled to receive the Pam Jones / Claire Nelson-Jonas Good Sport Award. After good food, good drink and good company, it was time to finish up a fun evening with everyone looking forward to some downtime (and some social squash) before the Autumn Comp kicks off in February next year.
A big call out to any juniors interested in having fun over the school holidays. Starting from Tuesday 2nd January at 2pm there will be coaching and matches for boys and girls every Tuesday for 4 weeks before school starts. Cost is $50 per junior (for 4 weeks) with a free racquet at the end of the program with the squash club able to accept any active kids vouchers. Saturday Afternoon Social Hit
(sound of crickets chirruping) - No need to turn up the air conditioning as players decided to take a break from the end to an exhausting comp. Don't forget anyone can come down between 2-4pm every Saturday to enjoy a hit and a chat with racquets available for the new players. If you have never played squash, fear not. There'll be plenty of people (not last Saturday obviously) to show you the ropes to start enjoying the game.
Tuesday Night Social Hit
Five players enjoyed the round robin format with everyone getting plenty of time on the court to get the blood pumping and the legs running. Drew "I hate my racquet" Anderson still managed some inspired shots against Chris "I love my racquet" Agosto with both players proving that the edge of the racquet can score points just as well as the middle of the racquet. Mark "what's a drop shot?" Rikard-Bell relied on his speed around the court with a rally for rally effort against Leanne "that's a drop shot!" Vanderdonk in a highly entertaining match. With three more Tuesdays before Christmas come on down from 5.30pm to help make room for the Christmas dinner with plenty of fun on offer for everyone.
