NSW health authorities have issued a warning for new party drug imprinted with the Gucci logo as it contains four times more the average amount of MDMA.

As music festival season starts to kick off across the country, health officials have advised all recreational drug users to avoid the purchase and consumption of the pinkish-orange coloured, square shaped drug.
NSW Poisons Information Centre medical director Dr Darren Roberts said the consumption of the high doses of MDMA could result in serious illness and death.
"It can cause severe agitation, raised body temperature, seizures or fits, irregular heart rhythm and death," Dr Roberts said.
Dr Roberts said the risks of the drug are greatly increased if high amounts of the drug were consumed over a short period or combined with other stimulants, such as amphetamines or cocaine.

"It is very important to remember the amount of MDMA in a tablet or capsule can vary a lot, even within the same batch," he said.
"If you or a friend have taken drugs, please watch out for each other and know the warning signs that you need help.
"If you or a friend feel unwell, you won't get into trouble for seeking medical care. Please seek help immediately."
