His Tigers. Collingwood. A sold-out MCG.
Hardwick has no interest in downplaying Friday night's grudge match at the 'G.
"We're pretty fortunate now as as club, we get to play in these marquee games," Hardwick said after Richmond's away win against Adelaide on Saturday.
"Versus the Pies is always a big game.
"And you're going to get a big crowd there so it's really exciting for not only us and our two clubs but the game in general."
Craig McRae's Magpies have scored a barely believable 260 points in their first two games, both resounding victories.
And Hardwick believes the trend of full-on attack is here to stay.
"At the moment we're seeing a great level of footy that is quite exciting, sides are trying to score," he said.
"Defences are still relatively strong.
"But overall I think the game of AFL footy is in a pretty good spot."
Hardwick's Tigers kicked 17 goals in a free-flowing 32-point triumph over the winless Crows.
The result leaves Adelaide winless - and with their own grudge match looming.
Port Adelaide. A sold-out Adelaide Oval. Saturday night.
"I love the Showdown week, I think we all do," Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks said.
"Our guys will just be chomping at the bit and so will they (Port) which will be great, it will be a good week for SA and I'm looking forward to it."
