Fyfe endured a horror round-one display against St Kilda last week when he managed just 0.1 from nine disposals in a 15-point loss.
Coach Justin Longmuir heavily backed Fyfe to rebound against the Kangaroos, but the 31-year-old was a late scratching from Saturday's match at Optus Stadium.
It is unclear how serious the injury is.
Forward Jye Amiss comes into the side as Fyfe's replacement, while Michael Walters is the tactical sub.
Amiss played three games last season, including Fremantle's two finals, but started 2023 behind Josh Treacy in the pecking order.
Treacy was dropped this week after managing just one goal from three disposals against the Saints.
