A father has inadvertently captured on video the moment his son was attacked by a shark.
Manni Alam, 8, his father Radwan Alam and a friend Moe Alsayed, were in a boat near Lady Musgrave Island in the Great Barrier Reef when the attack took place.
Manni had reeled in a coral trout but wanted to show it off on TikTok, so his father grabbed his phone to film.
"Beautiful day in the water, Manni show me what you got," he can be heard saying in the dramatic video.

In the vision, Manni is still in the ocean and hauls the trout out of the water and onto a landing at the back of the boat, when suddenly the shark attacks and latches onto the boy's chest.
The video suddenly cuts out as a voice yells "woah".
Manni, his father and Alsayed spoke with the Today show on Tuesday and relived the heart-stopping moment.

"I caught this huge trout and I just wanted to show it on TikTok," Manni said. "I went in the water, I was holding the trout, but then a huge shark attacked me.
"It just felt like a little bite. It hurt a little bit on the chest, but that's it."
Mr Alam said sharks are a common sight, especially when diving.
"Sharks are a very, very common occurrence, especially spear fishing. You never go spearfishing without seeing sharks," he said.
But the prospect of seeing another shark in the water hasn't deterred Manni
"I'm going to go back in," he said.
