Aerial drone footage captured the shark slinking into the shallow waters on Perth's Mullaloo Beach around lunchtime on Monday, January 9.
The footage shows a 2.5 metre tiger shark swimming just near the ocean's edge, where crowds gathered to watch the shark's dorsal fin pop out of the clear blue water.
Mullaloo Beach, 25 minutes drive north of Perth, was closed for several hours until the threat of shark attack passed.
The beach is believed to be named 'Mullaloo' after the local Indigenous term meaning 'place of the rat kangaroo.'

Although considering the multiple sightings this summer, perhaps it's time to rename the beach 'place of the tiger shark'.
The aerial footage was captured by two Perth-based drone photographers, Chelsea Carroll and Sam Wood, and uploaded to Instagram.
In the Instagram post's comments, users are theorising the shark came to the shoreline to catch small fish hiding from predators in the shallow water.
