The new film packs even more songs into its runtime, makes use of supporting actress Idina Menzel's pipes with a power ballad, and flips the switch by making Amy Adams' Giselle - the embodiment of all things good and nice - a wicked stepmother.
This time around Giselle and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) are long married and are raising a new baby.
Morgan (recast with the lovely Gabriella Baldacchino) is a surly teenager and the wonder of New York City has worn off.
The family moves to the idyllic suburban town of Monroeville to start again, but Giselle still wishes life was more like her fairytale homeland of Andalasia.
In classic fairytale fashion, you've got to be careful what you wish for; soon her new home becomes a storybook land alright - but she's the villain.
Actually, she's one of the villains - Maya Rudolph's Malvina is the other, and their epic villain song is one of Disenchanted's high points.
It's a true joy to catch up with these characters again, and learn that happily ever after might not really last forever and there's countless bumps along the road.
There may be a song and dance too many, and it can't beat the original, but it's still a well-made and dazzling celebration of a film.
The Wonder
Netflix
We're getting close to awards season, so all the big Oscar-bait movies are rolling around.
Florence Pugh throws her hat in the best actress ring with odd but compelling new film The Wonder.
The buzzy Academy Award nominee plays an English nurse, Lib, who travels to Ireland in the 1860s to look after a young girl.
What she doesn't learn until she arrives is that the girl allegedly hasn't eaten for four months and Lib's job is simply to watch her and try and figure out what's going on.
The film moves along at a slow pace, but it is beautifully shot, incredibly well acted by Pugh, and quietly mesmerising.
There's an odd directorial choice to open and close the movie by showing it as a literal film set, but if you can ignore that and handle the glacial pacing, it's a good watch.
The Santa Clauses
Disney+
Making another long-awaited return on Disney+ is Tim Allen's Santa Claus/Scott Calvin.
This new series, dropping episodes weekly, sees Santa decide to hang up the gift sack and head into retirement - he just needs to find his replacement.
While it's enjoyable to see the characters again after the 90s/00s trilogy, some of the wonder is lost with the series.
Limitless with Chris Hemsworth
Disney+
Chris Hemsworth partners with National Geographic for this documentary series which explores things we can all do to live longer.
The show then, of course, sets Hemsy a bunch of challenges that regular people probably couldn't easily complete, including a crazy-high crane walk, fasting for four days, trekking through the Blue Mountains and more.
Each episode focusses on a particular technique (reducing stress, extreme temperatures, etc) and many of the Thor actor's family and friends take part as well.
Interesting viewing.
