A thief has been stealing high-end alcohol from bottle shops across Melbourne, with the loot worth around $18,000.

Whiskeys are the usual target for this thief, with police releasing CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist officers with their enquiries.
The alcohol was stolen between September and October this year.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who has purchased, or seen top-shelf spirits being sold, for well below their retail value through social media or online marketplace websites.

The alcohol was stolen from bottle shops in Melbourne's southern and eastern suburbs, including: Mulgrave, Burwood, Berwick, Lyndhurst, Forest Hill, Cheltenham, Malvern, Malvern East, Chadstone, Parkdale and Karingal.
