The former Japanese prime minister was assassinated in July.
During the three-day trip, Mr Albanese will meet with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida and US vice-president Kamala Harris.
Mr Abe was Japan's longest-serving prime minister and visited Australia five times during his tenure.
Mr Albanese has described Mr Abe as "a reassuring figure of certainty".
"Mr Abe changed things for the better. In Japan, in our region and, indeed, around the world," he told the Australian Parliament in July.
"That, by any measure, is a life well lived."
