Q: Do you see the Cook Islands, Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Bora Bora opening soon? What’s the advice on the Pacific generally? – James C, Bathurst

It’s certainly looking very positive with Fiji leading the way from December 1, and the Cook Islands will be fairly close behind that. The others are likely to follow suit fairly quickly.

There should be more positive news this month as the confirmation of vaccination rates continues. Until then, make sure your passport is valid and if there’s anything less than eight months on it, start the renewal process now.

Q: We’re cruising fans. I’m booked on a January cruise with P&O. Would you advise me to move it to later in the year? – Tony M, Sydney

That’s a little bit of a hard question to answer as the P&O Cruises for January are still in play so we assume they are confident they will get the approvals from the government to proceed. Some of the other cruise lines have deferred their February cruising. Keep in touch with your travel agent as this could change very quickly.
