A spokesperson for Godolphin said it took two days to load the bales of hay, with rain and flooding affected roads and properties across the Upper Hunter as well, before Chris Sowter from Denman's Sowter Transport was able to depart for Grafton with the donated fodder.
"Denman's Sowter Transport have kindly donated their time and trucks to urgently transport the donated Godolphin Woodlands hay up north to help with fodder needs," the spokesperson said.
"We can't thank Sowters enough for helping out."
Mr Sowter said he was glad to assist in transporting the donated hay.
"It's just good to help people out where it's possible and to be in a position where we can help," Mr Sotwer said.
The fodder was transported to Grafton Raceclub, which acted as the staging hub for distribution to flood affected farmers in communities such as Lismore.
