The not-for-profit employment, training, education and apprenticeship service provider will deliver the TtW program across 23 locations in the Hunter and North Coast regions.
VERTO said the TtW program is a Department of Education, Skills and Employment initiative aimed at helping young people aged 15-24 to achieve their employment and education goals.
Participants in the program receive "intensive, pre-employment support to develop practical skills to get a job, participate in education or training, find local job opportunities, and connect with relevant local community services".
VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell said the not-for-profit was pleased the department had "put its faith in VERTO to deliver this vitally important program".
""Youth unemployment is at around nine per cent nationally and is almost a third higher than the general unemployment rate," Mr Maxwell said.
"This is concerning and demonstrates a need for a concerted focus on assisting youth."
Mr Maxwell said the delivery of the TtW program would benefit Muswellbrook job seekers as well as employers in the Upper Hunter.
"Through the TtW program, youth have the ability to gain real-life skills and knowledge that sets them up to be successful in the workforce," Mr Maxwell said.
"VERTO will also offer wage subsidy expertise and post-placement support to ensure the needs of local employers and labour markets are being met, while also maximising participants' success."
More information on the program is available at the website of the NSW Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
