Upper Hunter Shire Council said Wollar Road remains closed due to continued flooding on the Goulburn River on Thursday, November 25.

Upper Hunter Shire Council also advised motorists to exercise extreme caution on multiple roads near Merriwa, which the council said are accessible but have "multiple washouts" due to recent flooding.

The Merriwa roads identified as requiring extreme caution to navigate by Upper Hunter Shire Council include:

  • Idaville Rd (and all access roads off Idaville Rd)
  • Middle Creek Rd
  • Mountain Station Rd
  • Cream of Tartar Rd

On Monday, November 22, a man had to be rescued and was taken to hospital after his vehicle was submerged when attempting to cross floodwaters on Idaville Rd.
