Greg Inglis will return to the Macksville club his father played for in a low-key Australian bush footy comeback for the NRL champion.

Inglis left Australia in 2019 to play in the English Super League for Warrington Wolves after a 263-game NRL career with Melbourne and South Sydney.
But that stint lasted just three games due to a hamstring injury, allowing the Macksville Sea Eagles to swoop and secure the 34-year-old's services for next season.
"The Macksville Sea Eagles are proud to announce the signing of Greg Inglis for the 2022 Group 2 rugby league season," the club trumpeted on social media on Wednesday.
"Last year Greg played for the Warrington Wolves in the UK for the past season sharing his experience and expertise with the Super League.
"Greg looks forward to seeing continuing rugby league career in his hometown of Macksville.
"He is proud to once again play for the club as his father did back when he was growing up in the Nambucca Valley. It means a lot to him and his family to be playing for Macksville once again.
"The club and all its members would like to welcome Greg home and we are all looking forward to the 2022 season."
The move has set Inglis on a path with Sam Burgess, who will coach the Russell Crowe-backed Orara Valley in the Group 2 premiership next season.
