Three Upper Hunter road projects have attracted more than $4 million in funding from the latest round of the Fixing Local Roads Program.

Under the third round of the NSW Government program, Muswellbrook Shire Council will receive $348,322 for the rehabilitation of Mangoola Road, Singleton Council $1 million to seal Putty Valley Road and Rusty Lane while Upper Hunter Shire Council will receive $2,694,234 for stage two sealing of Barrington Forest Road.
"These projects will give our local councils a helping hand to address their maintenance backlog and to maintain roads that really matter to their communities, delivering safer trips to school or to the shops, as well as more efficient journeys for freight operators and primary producers," Member for Upper Hunter Dave Layzell said.
Mr Layzell also highlighted $16 million in funding for bridge replacement projects in Dungog Shire as part of the Fixing Country Bridges program.
From next month 23 ageing timber bridges in the Dungog area will be replaced with new constructions as part of the project.
