As many residents would be aware, Allan Bridge suffered damage on 13 July when an overweight truck drove over it.

The bridge has remained closed since then while council engineers investigated the damage.

Council is currently in the process of liaising with our own insurance company and the insurance company representing the party that damaged the bridge and will soon move to engaging a specialist bridge contractor to undertake the required repairs.

My sincere apologises go to the community for the inconvenience caused by this closure.

Although we cannot yet determine a reopening date, further updates will be provided to the community once we have more information including what specific works are required.
