One legend that still echoes is that of Ian Marsh who was swept into a Mudgee gutter during a dangerous flood in 1959.
Thankfully in a moment of quick thinking he was saved by Con Matis, a Greek café owner.
Ian has often wished he could speak to Con's family to thank them.
Meanwhile Con's son Geoff has always wondered about the boy his father saved.
