The NSW Government has committed $70.3 million ($534.8 million over four years) for upgrades to the New England Highway, including commencing construction between Belford and the Golden Highway and progressing the Singleton and Muswellbrook bypasses where works are on track to start in 2022.
Pledged during last month's hotly contested Upper Hunter by-election there is $12 million over two years for a new police station in Singleton.
"The current police station in Singleton has been serving the community since 1867 and the heritage listed building is home to around 50 staff," Deputy Premier John Barilaro said during the campaign.
The police station has previously been described as now being not fit for purpose given its heritage listing, size and location.
