The students and parents along with the school's sports co-ordinator Matt Edwards will be flying north to participate in the 2021 Ampol Women's State of Origin to be held at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Friday, June 25.
The U14 Girls Rugby League team entered a NRL competition to represent NSW and play at half time in the Women's State of Origin match at the Sunshine Coast on Friday, said Edwards.
"They had to submit a one minute video as to "why they love school rugby league and their video won the competition".
The trip includes meeting Origin players and training and education sessions before they play during half time in the Origin game.
Edwards said they would be competing against a Queensland high school.
Some of the team members play for the Singleton Greyhounds and Edwards said their commitment to the game was evident in their successful video presentation.
So far this season the U14s have enjoyed success in school competitions. TLast months they played in Raymond Terrace where the girls remained undefeated in their three pool matches and then proceeded to win the Grand Final against Lochinvar 16-4.
As part of the NRL Origin competition they also won $5000 for St Catherine's, which is to be spent on new rugby league equipment, jerseys and development .
