The winners of A Grade were Matt Hobbs Wes Boyd with a very good score of 75 and the runners up were Jake Teague and Joel Harrison with 80. In B Grade the winners were Matt Langan and Shane Davis with 88 and the runners up were Brad Baker and Clayton Rogers 91. The nett event over the field sponsored by Ross and Lyn Banks was won by Matt Langan and Shane Davis with 72.5 nett. The balls went to: Matt Langan and Shane Davis 72.5, Wes Boyd Matt Hobbs 75.5, Joel woods and Glen Tarrant 78, Brad Baker and Clayton Rogers 78.5.
On Saturday June 19, despite the cold, wet and windy conditions a good field turned up to play an 18 Hole Individual and 2B Odd and Even Stableford sponsored by James and Justin Smart. It was also Round 2 of the Winter Cup. The winners of the 2 ball event were Clayton Rogers and Lindsay Hodge who had 38 points and the runner ups were Steve Morse and Tony O'Neill 37 points. In the individual stableford Charlie Wintle had 36 points to win on a countback from Justin Smart, Jake Teague and Jayson Eather. The NTP's winners were: 4th Tony O'Neill 2.65 metres, 8th Luke Stevens 2.62 metres, 13th Luke Stevens 3.15 metres and 17th Brad Baker 3.52 metres. The balls went to: Charlie Wintle 36, Justin Smart 36, Jake Teague 36, Jayson Eather 36, Mitchell Spinks 35, Clayton Rogers 35, Lindsay Hodge 35, Bruce Lambert 34, Mick Alsleben 34, Robert Ryan 34, Brad Baker 34, Tim Smith 33, Tony O'Neill 33, Jim Elder 33 Luke Stevens 33 points.
After two rounds of The Winter Cup the winner of the annual trophy was Charlie Wintle (33,36) 69 on a countback from Clayton Rogers (34,35) 69. A good field of eighteen ladies played an 18 Hole Stableford on Thursday June 17. Some visitors from Merriwa joined in the day which was kindly sponsored by Dinie Bishop. On a very windy day the winner was Tania Carrigan who had 35 points. The Runner Up was Vonnie Palmer on 33 points who beat Mary Ellen Brennan on a countback. Balls were won by these players plus Sue Weis, Lyn Banks 32, June Jukes 31, Jane Burdon 29 and Barb Hobbs 28 points. Lyn Banks also won the nearest to the pin on the 8th.
It was also Round 3 of The Thoroughbred Trophy, Best 2 out of 3 Stableford Rounds. The winner of the annual event was Mary Ellen Brennan who had two rounds of 33 for 66 points. This was one point ahead of Lyn Banks.
On Wednesday June 16, in the 18 Hole Medley Stableford sponsored by Scone RSL Group, there was a great field of twenty five players. The scores were very good with Bruce Lambert winning first place with 40 points. Alistair Fraser won the second place prize on 38 points and Jake Teague the third prize on 37 points. They also won balls along with David O'Brien, Will Druitt 36, Andrew Parry-Okeden, Luke Stevens, Jono Keep 35, Mark Lewis, Paul McLoughlin 34, Phil Tarrant 33 and Ross Banks 31 points on a countback from Kevin Martin.
Golf for the coming week at Scone will include the Ladies Foursomes Championships on Thursday June 24. As usual the Wednesday Stableford competition will be available.
On Monday June 21 and Tuesday June 22, the ladies Hunter river District Championships will be played at Hunter Valley and Cypress Lakes courses. The Scone ladies competing in the Singles and Foursomes events will be Lyn Banks, Dordie Bragg, Julie Leckie and Kerry McLennan.
