An 18 month old girl sustained burns to her hands when she accidentally fell in an open fire

Around 8:15 p.m on Saturday June 12, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked on a primary mission to Merriwa. An 18 month old girl sustained burns to her hands when she accidentally fell in an open fire.

The girl was treated on scene by NSWA paramedics before being transported by road ambulance to Merriwa Hospital to rendezvous with the helicopter. The Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team took over treatment and she was airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

She was in a stable condition.
