A SERIOUS single-vehicle crash closed part of the New England Highway near Belford on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 8am to reports a car had lost control and rolled.
Paramedics, police, NSW Fire and Rescue and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were tasked to the scene.
A man in his 40s was treated for a head laceration and back pain. He remains in a stable condition and was transported to John Hunter Hospital.
A teenager was also in the car at the time of the crash. The female suffered head injuries and was in a serious condition. The patient was flown to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
Parts of the highway remained closed for much of the day while emergency services worked to clean up the debris and the Crash Investigation Unit looked over the scene.
The cause of the crash will now be investigated.
