Despite the uncertainty of the 2020 AFL Hunter Central Coast season, playing coach and senior club president Nadene McBride has announced her side's five member leadership group.
"We have had a great group of girls who were all looking to give their all for our team," McBride told the Singleton Argus.
"Everyone was so excited about playing together as a team and I am so proud of where our girls were before we had to pause."
McBride has confirmed Tori Cowburn was appointed as the senior captain for the third straight year.
"Pre-season was looking very promising for the ladies team," Cowburn explained.
"We were having great numbers show up at training, some new, some old, and heaps of motivation.
"With the women's comp being split into two grades it was going to be great to be able to build on our skill and game play and be competitive for the silverware at the end of the year."
Cowburn, who was selected in the league's team of the year in 2018, only featured in nine games last year yet still managed to finish runner up in the club's best and fairest count.
"During this hard time the girls have been doing amazing at keeping motivated and in touch with each other," she continued.
"We've been organizing group fitness via facebook and using the fitness app 'strava' to be able to keep up to date with everyone's fitness happenings.
"It has been hard but we are all trying to do what we can."
Reigning club best and fairest Kyah McBride and leading goal-kicker Brianna Howard will add experience to the leadership group as members from the club's inaugural season.
Howard, 24, hoped to be a role model to her younger peers in season 2020.
"With as much experience as I have, I love to help others and guide where I can," Howard added.
"I want to share what I know with others to improve and work towards their goals."
Hannah Cox rounds out the quintet following her elevation to the leadership group this week.
Since making her debut against Maitland in Round 4, 2018 the ball winner has strung together 29 games for the club.
"Cox is a pivotal player who you would label the 'ultimate team player' and she is new to AFL but gives her all and is the first person to give encouragement," McBride concluded.
"Keeping all of our team motivated and together she was a deserving winner of the coach's award for 2019."
