GOLF became one of the last sports to fall victim to coronavirus (COVID-19) this week after the governing bodies, Golf NSW and Golf Australia, recommended all courses be closed indefinitely.

Professional tournaments and club competitions were suspended earlier in the month but social rounds had been continuing under social distance and hygiene protocols.
However, as of midnight on Monday, March 30, all courses in the Upper Hunter - including Aberdeen, Merriwa, Murrurundi, Scone, Denman, Muswellbrook and Singleton - are shut until further notice.
"We all understand the health benefits, both mental and physical, our game provides," a Golf NSW spokesperson said.
"However, the government has listed the four reasons in which you may leave your home; for work, exercise, food, and for medical reasons.
"Sadly, under the current restrictions, sport is considered non-essential and therefore not exempt.
"Action by authorities, including fines, could be imposed on people not adhering to these regulations."
