Transport for NSW confirmed all work to move traffic onto the bypass is expected to be finished with new permanent conditions in place early in the morning on Saturday, March 14, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions will also be put in place on the New England Highway at Scone, from 6pm on Friday, March 13, to accommodate the move.
Work involves removing temporary road markings and barriers, and placing new line marking on the road surface.
Traffic will be progressively moved on to the bypass, with new intersections opened at the northern and southern ends of Kelly Street and St Aubins Street.
Motorists will be able to access the town centre via any of the three latest interchanges on the bypass.
A 40km/h speed limit will be in place while the work is carried out for the safety of workers and road users.
Work will be required on a number of roads and intersections after the bypass opens including the existing New England Highway at the southern end of town, south of Gundy Road, and at the new roundabout at the northern end of town at Makybe Diva Street.
All remaining work is expected to be completed before Easter, weather permitting.
Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to safely direct road users.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanked road users for their patience during this time.
