The annual primary school competition, which was previously held at Cook Park, saw a total of six teams from five schools play-off in sunny conditions at Pirtek Park on February 20.
St Mary's Scone took out the honours in Division A while Aberdeen Public School prevailed in Division B.
Denman Public School, Scone Public School and St Joseph's Denman also provided on field highlights yet, in a surprising turn of events, no Singleton or Muswellbrook-based schools were present.
However, there's always next year, according to Swan.
"It was a credit to Luke and Leigha (Gardner) and everyone at the Greyhounds for providing such a great venue for today," Swan announced during the post-tournament ceremony.
"They even did up the second ground in case we required it which was fantastic.
"It was also fantastic to have Steve Simpson (the tournament's namesake) in attendance.
"He was a former Broke and Singleton junior who did some great things in this sport and his presence was greatly appreciated."
