Upper Hunter Shire Council is proud to throw its support behind the 30th annual campaign on Sunday, March 1, with a range of events planned.
Step Up to Clean Up in your local community, bring the family, and enjoy a barbeque or morning tea afterwards.
Upper Hunter Shire mayor Wayne Bedggood is urging volunteers to "come along and help keep the shire looking great".
"Rubbish bags will be available but please bring along a pair of gloves and a water bottle, and wear sensible shoes, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses," he said.
Merriwa: Register at the Merriwa Lions Park Driver Reviver Station from 8am. Volunteers can enjoy a free morning tea after the clean-up at 10am. The minimum age for unaccompanied participants is 15 years. All participants are required to wear closed in shoes. Murrurundi: Murrurundi will participate in the Schools Clean Up day on Friday, February 28; this is an alternate date as there are no official activities on March 1. For more information contact Heather Ranclaud on 6540 1356.
Scone: Meet at Elizabeth Park from 9am to register and teams will be allocated to nearby areas. A free sausage sizzle for participants will be hosted from 11am to 11.30am with a lucky door prize to be announced. For more information or to register, phone council on 6540 1100.
