But, both women are passionate about their local show, agriculture and their home-town.

More than 260 people watched on as Merriwa Showgirl Lauren Eccles and Dunedoo's Hannah Yeo took out the Zone 5 final in The Great Hall at Tocal Agricultural College on Saturday.

Lauren's family has been involved in the Showgirl movement for generations and she is relishing the opportunity to share the amazing things Merriwa has to offer.

"Thank you to everyone who came out tonight, it means we can continue this and grow our rural communities," Lauren said in her winning speech.

"Judges I don't know how you did it...I have spoken to each and everyone of these women and they magnificent and wonderful in their own way and give so much to their community."

The 23-year-old is a podiatrist and plans to one day open her own podiatry in rural areas like the Upper Hunter.

She enjoys volunteering her podiatry services to the rural community particularly to farmers.

Hannah is working towards her second degree, a Bachelor of Psychological Science, after already graduating from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

The 23-year-old works as a court clerk and plans to continue working within the justice department as she develops her skills to assist the most vulnerable or those affected by mental health and well-being challenges.

She believes the showgirl movement is a wonderful platform for community engagement and has a strong commitment to community service.

Referring to the other finalists, Hannah said they were all an inspiration to her.

"Let's keep on staying in the showgirl movement," Hannah said.

The pair are now off to The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition where they will vie for the prestigious title.
