FIREFIGHTERS have moved quickly to contain a grass fire at Jerrys Plains on Thursday afternoon.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) Hunter Valley headquarters, at Bulga, received a Triple Zero (000) call at about 12.30pm on January 23.
Members from the NSW RFS and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) then attended the scene near Lemington Road.
The blaze is now under control, according to NSW RFS Hunter Valley operational officer Leanne Bell.
"The crews are still out there, as the fire covered 30 hectares," she said.
"Although the traffic wasn't affected and no property was in danger, people will see smoke in the area.
"The cause of the fire isn't suspicious; however it will be investigated further."
