Transport for NSW will carry out the work, which involves rebuilding a two-kilometre section of the highway east of Sandy Hollow.
Work is scheduled to take place from January 20, between 7am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
It's expected to be complete by February 28, weather permitting.
Lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Road users may experience delays of up to 10 minutes and should allow extra travel time.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
