At about 4.15am on January 16, emergency services responded to reports of a single car roll-over on the New England Highway, about one kilometre north of Hebden Road, between Singleton and Muswellbrook.
Two NSW Ambulance crews arrived at the scene to find the man with lacerations to his head and a broken leg.
Paramedics transported the patient by road to John Hunter Hospital.
The New England Highway was closed to motorists for a few hours and traffic diverted through Putty Road, Golden Highway and Denman Road.
It re-opened just after 6.30am.
