City United junior Brodie Little was the star with the bat making 67 off just 61 balls as Hunter Valley amassed 8-155 off 38 overs.
West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook was restricted to 145 in reply with the local fielders producing an incredible four run-outs.
Hunter Valley - which consisted of Scone's Lachlan Clydsdale, and Singleton quartet Cody Burley, Brandon Carman, Hayden Moorcroft and Rywin Nock - secured fifth spot in the tournament with one victory from its four games in the preliminary rounds.
The side's earlier triumph came at the expense of Ballina.
Hunter Valley reached 5-140 and bowled out its rivals for 88.
Will Kennedy made 56 and Thomas Callan 28 not out.
Moorcroft snared 4-14 with the ball.
Hunter Valley also started its campaigns on Monday, January 6, with teams taking part in the Lismore Under-12 Carnival and the LJ Hooker Under-13 Carnival at Ballina.
The region's under-15s face Newcastle, Central Coast, Northern Inland, Mid-North Coast and North Coast in Maitland from Monday, January 20.
