The unprecedented scale of the bushfire disaster, the number of affected landholders and the difficulty in sourcing transportation and services over the holiday break means that those requiring support should act early to ensure access to emergency supplies.
The Agricultural and Animal Services Functional Area will maintain essential services and local staff will remain on standby to assist with any animal assessment, emergency water or fodder needs.
Staff will prioritise the most urgent cases where there is an imminent and urgent risk to animal survival or animal welfare.
The fire situation across NSW remains extremely serious with in excess of 6000 landholders thought to have been affected.
New properties are being impacted daily.
