The Kerry Ridge, Meads Creek West and Oaky Creek blazes, which take in the Muswellbrook, Singleton, Upper Hunter and Mid-Western LGAs, have keep crews busy in recent weeks.

"In regards to Kerry Ridge, proposed containment lines have been identified and will be explored over the coming days," NSWRFS Cudgegong District deputy incident controller Inspector Troy Gersback said.

"As for Meads Creek West, further back-burning operations will be conducted when conditions allow.

"But, that fire and Oaky Creek are being controlled."

Listed as 'Going', the Kerry Ridge fire has currently burnt out more than 53,000 hectares of the Wollemi National Park, Putty State Forest and Coricudgy State Forest.

The fire is continuing to move in an easterly direction to the northern part of the Putty Valley (Gum Tree Hole, Kindarun Mountain).

However, the threat to Gum Tree Hole on the eastern side eased overnight.

Under easterly winds, the western edge of the fire has moved into rural areas in vicinity of Mt Coricudgy.

A number of properties along Coricudgy Road/Kelgoola Road came under threat overnight, with crews actively undertaking property protection.

Due to rugged terrain, this fire continues to burn un-contained to the north (south of properties along Widden Valley Road, Blackwater Creek Trail and Baerami Creek Road).

Listed as 'Being Controlled', the Meads Creek West fire has currently burnt out more than 11,000 hectares of the Goulburn River National Park and adjoining private property.

This fire started as a result of lightning on Wednesday, November 27, and is burning across the Upper Hunter and Mid-Western LGAs.

On Tuesday, December 10, the alert level for the Meads Creek West fire was increased to 'Watch and Act' due to further fire activity on the north-eastern corner (near Hamburger Hill - Flight Springs Road/Tunbridge Road).

But, due to easing conditions, it was downgraded to 'Advice' in the early evening.

Firefighters - supported by earth-moving machinery and water-bombing aircraft - continue to work across the fire ground to consolidate and establish containment lines.

Ringwood Road remains closed.

Listed as 'Being Controlled', the Oaky Creek fire has currently burnt out more than 5500 hectares of the Wollemi National Park.

This fire started as a result of lightning on Tuesday, November 26, and is burning within the Muswellbrook LGA.

Firefighters - supported by local landholders, earth-moving machinery and water-bombing aircraft - continue to work on establishing containment lines and extinguishing the fire as it moves out of the national park onto open country along Weddin Valley Road.

Due to rugged terrain, this fire continues to burn un-contained along the south-eastern corner towards isolated properties situated along Nullo Mountain Road.

Under forecast conditions, it is anticipated the south-eastern edge of this fire will join the Kerry Ridge fire in the coming days.

There was an outbreak identified yesterday evening along Emu Creek Road, Widden.

This was promptly contained by NSW RFS units.

There is no immediate threat to properties in the area.
