The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) said the blaze, covering more than 11,500 hectares within the Singleton LGA, had taken hold of a large area around Putty, Garland Valley and Howes Valley on December 6.
"The hot and windy weather is seeing an increase in fire activity," a NSWRFS spokesperson said.
"It's burning towards Howes Valley and Reedy Creek.
"The fire is expected to impact on this area [this afternoon].
"If you are in the area of Howes Valley and Reedy Creek, seek shelter as the fire approaches.
"Protect yourself from the heat of the fire, too."
The local NSWRFS brigades are also battling an out of control bushfire, the Little L Complex, in the neighbouring Yengo National Park.
