The Merriwa Magpies successfully defended their Hunter Valley Group 21 Rugby League Women's 11s crown at Muswellbrook's Olympic Park on Friday night, thanks to a thumping 34-6 victory over the Murrurundi Mavettes.
Earlier in the week, Murrurundi coach Dean Brown said his side would need to be at its best to upset the 2018 champions.
But, unfortunately, the Mavettes seemed overawed by the occasion, which played into the hands of the Magpies.
Within the blink of an eye, Merriwa had the match wrapped up after 12 minutes, courtesy of a 24-0 lead.
The performance put a big smile on triumphant coach Matt Morgan's face.
"We were ready for it," he said.
"It was all about the start - and the girls began perfectly.
"Four tries in quick succession laid the platform, along with our strong defence.
"We didn't change anything throughout the week.
"They still trained 90-minute to two-hour sessions.
"So, the girls really deserve it.
"I'm extremely happy for them.
"And, full credit to Murrurundi - they've had a good season, too."
The Magpies led 6-0 after two minutes when Jessyca Morgan stormed over. Lucy Prudden landed the simple conversion.
Almost immediately from the kick-off, Elly Blackadder sliced through for an easy four-pointer. Prudden's boot then pushed Merriwa ahead 12-0.
The rot failed to stop for the Mavettes, as Shai Blackadder touched down out wide. Prudden made it three from three to extend the margin to 18-0.
In the 12th minute, Morgan snared her second of the evening. Again, Prudden was on target for a 24-0 scoreline.
Murrurundi struck back before the break when Kate Brown grabbed the team's lone try, which she also converted for 24-6.
The Magpies began the second period much like the first - crossing the line twice in four minutes.
Kelly Maslen put her name on the scorer's list, while Morgan secured a hat-trick.
Another Prudden goal iced the victory 34-6.
