When finished, the amenities will boast greatly improved showers for the players.
It's just the start of something bigger at the town's major sporting ground.
"The next section to be upgraded will be the canteen and irrigation system," a council spokesperson said.
"The $260,000 project is being done by council and funded from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund."
The Merriwa Magpies, the 2018 Group 21 tackle champions, will host matches at the facility on Friday evening, October 18.
And, it's set up for a big night of action on the field.
The defending premiers opened their account with a 10-6 victory over the Aberdeen Tigers, but meet the Singleton Greyhounds - who beat the Muswellbrook Ramettes 22-0 - in the feature match at 7.40pm.
First up, the Tigers head into battle with the Murrurundi Mavettes at 6.30pm, followed by the Scone Thoroughbreds' showdown with Muswellbrook from 7.05pm.
