A SCONE man is grinning from ear-to-ear after scoring a nice little windfall this week.
The local revealed he couldn't contain his excitement the moment he realised his favourite numbers had delivered him a $73,000 Keno 8 Spot win on Monday, September 16.
The NSW player held a Keno 8 Spot winning entry in game.
Confirming his prize with a Keno official on Tuesday morning, the winner relived the thrilling moment.
"It was great," he exclaimed.
"I was chatting to my mate, watching the Keno screens, and I quickly realised that the only other number I needed was three.
"Just as I thought that the number three popped up.
"I played my favourite lucky numbers that I always play and they certainly delivered for me.
"I yelled 'you beauty'.
"It was bloody beautiful."
When asked how he would enjoy his Keno fun money, the man didn't hesitate for a second.
"I'm definitely going to retire," he declared.
"This prize has come at the perfect time and will allow me to give up work earlier than I had expected."
The regular Keno player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno 8 Spot entry at Scone RSL Club in Guernsey Street.
Scone RSL ClubCEO Michael Hollingsworth said he was over-the-moon for his local patron.
"It's fantastic to see these big Keno prizes won throughout the state," he stated.
"The atmosphere was great here yesterday when he scored the prize.
"The winner was tickled pink.
"It's the biggest Keno prize we've had won here and we hope it's the beginning of plenty more."
In the 12 months to 30 June, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 64 million wins collectively worth more than $853 million.
