Principal Michael Frith said the youngster's achievements really lifted morale among the pupils - and they were all very excited about his appearance at the School Sport Australian National Track and Field Championships.
"When you've got talent and ability at this level in your community, you can't help but feel proud, especially when it's such a small community," he explained.
"We'll be following his progress as closely as we can and trying to channel our energy right down the track with him."
White is the current national under-10 100m champion and qualified for the championships in Darwin as the fastest under-11 boy in Australia.
The event takes place from Wednesday to Monday, September 18 to 23.
