Hundreds of participants - young and young-at-heart - tackled the course through Karoola Park, receiving a bright "spray" at the various dye stations before reaching the inflatable obstacles.
The event was made possible after Muswellbrook Netball Association successfully applied for a Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network grant, available to groups to lead activities that build resilience during "the big dry".
The shire, and entire Upper Hunter, is deemed as a drought-affected region.
"I can't find the words for it," Ms Constable said.
"We're totally amazed by the response.
"We'd hit 400 registrations by Saturday night, then received another 100 on the morning.
"Colour Me Happy has far exceeded our expectations.
"And, I think, it's just what the community needed."
