Sixty-six-year-old man dies following motor vehicle accident at Scone on Monday afternoon

A REPORT is being prepared for the Coroner after a man died in a motor vehicle accident at Scone on Monday afternoon.

About 4.30pm on August 19, a Mazda 3 was travelling on Noblet Street when it travelled onto a dirt access road and crashed into a tree.

The driver and sole occupant, a 66-year-old man, was treated at the scene before being taken to Scott Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District have started enquiries into the incident.
