THE Greater Northern Tigers under-16 league tag side booked a berth in the 2019 CRL Country Championships decider following a brilliant performance at Glen Innes at the weekend.

Contesting the northern pool of the prestigious tournament, the talented young team - which features Group 21 players Merriwa's Mackenzie Blackadder; Muswellbrook's Heidi Richards, Tobey Stewart and Matilda Jones; Scone's Lara Hedley, Emily Watts and Tyla Brown; and Singleton's Caitlan Warren, Ruby Bennett and Jules Kirkpatrick - put its rivals Northern Rivers Titans, North Coast Bulldogs and Central Coast Roosters to the sword.
The squad now tackles Greater Southern Region for the crown at Morry Breen Oval, Wyong, on Saturday, July 27.
The Tigers hammered the Titans 36-14, with Hedley, Kirkpatrick, Jones, Chloe De Gunst, Brown and Richards all scoring tries.
Stewart and De Gunst also landed two goals each.
Greater Northern then thrashed the Bulldogs 32-4.
Brown and Richards both bagged doubles, while Kasey Gaukroger and Kiarna Landsborough touched down, too.
Stewart booted a further three conversions, with De Gunst piloting one over the black dot.
In the final hit-out, the Tigers showed no mercy to the Roosters, prevailing 30-4.
Bennett, Kirkpatrick, Brown, Richards, Warren and Amiel Griffiths posted four-pointers in the rout.
Watts, Stewart and De Gunst added the extras in the kicking department.
In the open division, the Roosters will meet Greater Southern Region in the main showdown, also at Wyong.
The Tigers also performed strongly on the day, knocking over the Titans 12-4 and Bulldogs 28-0.
But, they lost 16-4 to the Roosters.
