Kimberley Resch has been forced to pull out of the weekend's tournament due to injury.
The North Tamworth star, who scored four tries in last week's Tooheys Group 4 victory over Boggabri, suffered a hamstring strain in that win and will sit out the championship games against Northern Rivers, North Coast and Central Coast at Meade Park.
Greater Northern features five players from Group 21 - Murrurundi's Jessica Presland and Hannah Rando, as well as Scone trio Sofie Casson, Flynn Haggarty and Rebecca Hill.
Tigers coach Damien Allen said it was a shame - and a huge loss.
"It's disappointing for Kim," he said after Wednesday night's training session at Jack Woolaston Oval.
"A big loss for us, not only her attack but her experience as well."
Mick Schmiedel, who coached the Tigers last year and helped out Allen on Wednesday, said it was a selfless decision.
"She could have played at a pinch but didn't want to let anyone down," he explained.
"She's here tonight helping Damo as well.
"That's pretty selfless."
Resch has been in outstanding form for her North Tamworth side this year and is the leading tryscorer in all grades with 24.
She's also kicked 42 goals for a total of 180 points to be the leading pointscorer as well.
A brilliant attacking player blessed with speed and outstanding evasive skills she would have been a key component in the Tigers' quest.
Resch said it was disappointing to miss the championships after suffering a twinge at the back of her left knee.
She had also suffered two corks in the same legs during the Greater Northern Championships and that could have had a hand in her strained hamstring.
She felt the twinge in the 52-0 win over Boggabri and spent the second half on the wing.
She didn't want to go to Glen Innes and let her teammates down in what will be higher quality and faster representative games and hopes to have more physiotherapy on it to be right for the run in to the Group 4 semi-finals.
Dungowan's Hope Martin has been named as her replacement.
"Hope played in the Tigers last year," Allen said.
"She knows what to expect."
The Greater Northern Tigers tackle Northern Rivers first up on Saturday morning, followed by North Coast and then Central Coast in the round robin format.
The side has one final training run in Glen Innes on Friday evening.
