The funding guarantee, announced by Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen on Friday, would allow the Mid-Western Council to enhance the road, as well as address safety issues.
"This win for the the Bylong Valley Way is funded by the sixth round of the Resources for Regions, bringing the total number of projects supported by the program to more than 60 since 2012," he said.
"The initiative helps projects create extra jobs and economic growth in mining-related communities.
"On this occasion, it's for a capital upgrade of a 9.4km section of the Bylong Valley Way Road to improve movement of freight for mining, as well as address the poor condition of the road which is causing safety issues."
Resources for Regions is funded from the Restart NSW Fund, part of the NSW Government's commitment to the delivery of infrastructure which increases the economic growth and productivity of the state.
The program is a component of the $1.6 billion Regional Growth Fund, which is designed to support growing regional centres, activate local economies and improve services and community structure for regional communities.
"Having heard from Mid-Western Council, I know that the council is pleased to have received funding from Resources for Regions, allowing them to do further critical work on the Bylong Valley Way," Mr Johnsen said.
