Winx's owners revealed on Monday that the greatest racehorse of the modern era will be served by Yarraman Park's champion stallion I Am Invincible for the 2019 breeding season.
"As owners, we have utilised and considered the expert advice of bloodstock professionals both domestically and internationally," connections revealed in a statement.
"We have sought the opinions of various pedigree consultants, bloodstock agents and stud managers.
"They provided us with the foundation of information to assess and use to compile the short list of stallions for consideration".
The Chris Waller-trained Winx was retired after winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick on day two of The Championships in April.
Rated the world's best racehorse last year, the wonder mare was unbeatable for nearly four years, ending her racing career with 33 consecutive wins and a world record 25 at Group 1 level.
It will be an equine match made in heaven, with I Am Invincible having fast become one of Australia's leading stallions in recent years.
Standing at a service fee of $247,500, I Am Invincible is the sire of more than 60 stakes-winners with 28 of his progeny this season having won 40 stakes races.
I Am Invincible enjoyed a record-breaking year as the most successful sire of Australian stakes winners in history in the 2018-19 season.
Winx's connections said the process highlighted the extreme depth to the stallion ranks in Australia and across the world however said the mare's welfare remained of the highest priority when considering the options of traveling overseas.
