The answer is yes if you head to the 2019 edition of Smoke in Broke at McNamara Park this weekend.
The popular event returns this year - on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9 - with more fun, food vendors, competitors and BBQ.
And, it's something the entire family can enjoy, too.
Smoke in Broke also includes entertainment from local musicians, such as Sleepyhead, Brian Mayled, Sandy McNaughton and Matt Scullion, market stalls and BBQ demonstrations from some of Australia's top "pitmasters".
The competitive nature of the extravaganza has grown in 2019 to include a kids' BBQ contest and a steak cook-off.
The "littlies" will be out to deliver their best hot dogs and steak on Saturday from 4pm.
The cook-off, however, starts at 11am and continues throughout the day, with the winners announced later that evening on the main stage.
Sunday features the much-anticipated Australasian Barbecue Alliance Championship Series, with 55 teams turning in their best low and slow barbecued chicken, brisket, lamb, pork ribs and shoulder.
Also new this year is a second stage dedicated to BBQ demonstrations and information.
Tickets for the event are $7 (online) or $15 at the gate, with children 12 years and younger admitted free.
It all kicks off on Saturday from 10am until 8pm; with Sunday's action between 10am and 7pm.
